SEQUITOR: A demonstration integrated coastal knowledge platform

Project Description

Management across the catchment-coast-ocean continuum remains one of the greatest Natural Resource Management challenges still to be addressed in Australia. This project would develop data integration and visualisation infrastructure for a proof-of-concept Coastal Knowledge platform for South-east Queensland known as SEQUITOR. SEQUITOR will integrate observational (e.g. monitoring) data from catchment, river and coast with models of catchment, estuarine and coastal processes to enable the discovery and generation of new knowledge and better understand the catchment-to-coast system.

Specific Objectives:
1. expose and integrate disparate datasets from a number of organisations in South-east Queensland.

2. visualise and analyse disparate data in a publically accessible web environment.

3. assimilate data from observational networks to better constrain catchment and receiving environment models.

High Level Software Functionality:

software system is expected to:
1. Connect to disparate data from different organisations, extract data and expose in a standard re-usable format. Currently, all this processes happens manually and the project will automate the processes.

2. View and extract metadata related to dataset.
a) Enable publication of metadata in an ISO 19115 standard from GeoNetwork instance.
b) Enable publication of RIF-CS feed to ANDS RDA
