Biodiversity and Climate Change Virtual Laboratory: Increasing Trust in Environmental Model Outputs for Research and Government Use

Griffith University

Project Description

The Biodiversity and Climate Change Virtual Laboratory (BCCVL) provides access to data, computational capacity and a suite of common analysis tools in an easy to use online platform. It significantly lowers access barriers for modelling the impact of climate change and other factors on biodiversity while simultaneously raising the standard of the quality of experiments that can be undertaken.

This project aims to increase the trust of research data outputs, processes, procedures and models utilised by the BCCVL to provide data and analytical services to research and government users in the ecoscience domains. The project aligns with the BCCVL’s strategic intent:

● Align with the needs of NCRIS domains. Increase the value of their data by providing advanced modelling capabilities, visualisation and convergence services leading to increase uptake and utilisation and research output;

● Develop the market through providing world class user support, undergraduate and postgraduate training and curriculum development;

● Extend partnerships with data and model users in research, government and industry.
